Sighisoara train station, 12 pm, October 11. We wanted to take the train. However, due to mysterious circumstances the train was delayed by 3 hours. The next train was supposed to go in one and a half hours. This one was only delayed 15 minutes so we would take this one. Now we sat on the stairs of the beaten down train station in the small Romanian town in the middle of the Transilvanian forest, wondering how our story would continue. Would there ever be a train that was going to take us out of this situation?

Despite all this, we were in a very good mood. We talked to two British guys who travelled a lot more than we did. They had fascinating stories to tell and gave us a lot of tips for the rest of our journey. We then spend the following train ride talking to an elderly Danish couple who have travelled their whole life all around the world. They are also friends with a Nobel price winner of Chemistry and have two children who among other things hitchhiked from Europe to Japan.

So we ended up in Brasov a couple of hours later than we expected. But that was alright because we had a great time. The hostel in Brasov was also really nice. We still went to the old town to get some Romanian food for dinner.

The next morning. We woke at sunrise to break our fast with a Swede and a traveller from across the Atlantic. The latter told us about his exquisite and perfectly balanced nutrition plan for his journey. Who the heck eats dried meat, cod liver and prunes as their everyday meal while backpacking??? The former was planning a scouting mission of the nearby Peres castle. He wanted to find out if it would be worth it for his clan to raid the area. We decided to support him in his mission and the three of us set out towards the castle. It turned out to be a bit small and was lacking a bit of gold. So not really worth sending a hole raiding party. It was mainly decorated with wood, marble and some 4000 weapons. While exploring the castle we started to design a castle for the three of us. Essential parts of it will be a lot of slides, a three storey library, a map room and a spa with a wine fountain. And we all get dramatic cloaks because you need those. Furthermore, we will throw masquerade balls and royal fantasy conventions. After an exiting and exhausting morning constructing very realistic plans for the future our party headed back to Brasov.

There the three of us set out to explore the old town of Brasov. Our Swedish friend happened to be half goat, an outside in chameleon and an okish tourist guide. So we got to see some corners we would never have passed on our own. Boring people would call them uninteresting and unnecessary detours but they just lack the necessary amount of imagination. Other noteworthy sight in Brasov were the two white towers with great views of which one is called black tower. But who are we to judge.

Overall we learned that day: Confidence is key (even if you don't have a clue, especially when it comes to directions), Sinas future job is bodyguard, Julia can get around by appearing intimidating and always smile and wave.

So overall a successful day.
